1. What are you passionate about? Tell us all about it!
As long as I can remember, I have been passionate about my country and its history... specifically, defending the truth of American history. Why am I passionate? I believe history is vitally important to a nation and its people. There is, of course, the oft quoted caution that those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. We learn the cause and effects of past actions and decisions, what things work well and what does not. But it goes even deeper than that. Our history as a nation gives us an identity as a people and binds us together. It gives us the reasons and incentives to protect what is important in our nation, and indeed gives us an understanding of what is important. We can look at the Constitution, for example, and see that it contains X, Y, and Z (you fill in the blanks). History is what tells us what X, Y, and Z are, why they are included in the Constitution, the importance behind them, and how and why we ought to defend them. To take away our history, or to distort it in order to make us ashamed of who we are, serves to destroy our connection as citizens and our national pride. To attack our history removes the motivation and reason for the next generations to defend our heritage or to understand and uphold the rule of our Constitution.
In short, you could say I love history, and I love to study about the founding of our country and our Godly heritage.
2. What is one of the best books, novel or nonfiction, that you've read in your lifetime? What is it you love about it?
Boy is this a hard one! My love of reading has given me a great many favorites. I would probably have to choose between the Chronicles of Narnia, Sherlock Holmes, or the Rangers Apprentice series. For this question, however, I will go with The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe from the Chronicles of Narnia. It is the first of the series which I read when I was younger. The aspect of the book which drew me in was that Narnia was such a believable place, a place one might really step into. For a child, it is a world which offers the ultimate adventure, a place when the restrictions of age fall away, and one can receive honor and responsibility as a leader even. Narnia is a place that offers old fashion battles of swords and arrows, and fashions the heart of the child who steps into that land into that of a warrior to protect the good and that of a ruler of a kingdom.

3. What is your favorite holiday? Why?
I would have to say that my favorite holiday is the Fourth of July. Why? Because I am very patriotic, and I love celebrating our nations birthday. The birth of our Independence! Liberty! There is nothing better than a day filled with red, white, and blue, patriotic music and fireworks! It is the day we celebrate the great experiment of freedom, the sacrifices given for liberty, a proud history, the brave men who risked everything, from the soldiers to the men who signed the Declaration of Independence. We celebrate that document which reflects the heart and the soul of the United States of America.

It is also a day which holds some of the best memories I have. I come from a very patriotic family background, and some of the best days of my life were spent on the 4th at my aunt and uncles, hanging red, white, and blue bunting, ribbons, and lights, and setting out patriotic tablecloths and centerpieces. How can the day be described? These are my memories.
Patriotic music following our steps...barbecue...good food...swimming...running in the woods...watching firework preparation...family arriving...visiting...surrounded by family...surrounded by patriotism...every heart beating red, white, and blue...standing together...singing together...the flag is raised...chills...pride...Pledge of Allegiance...Star Spangled Banner...tears...cheers...best firework show...whooping, hollering, cheering...family, together.
